Step Faster, Please
Of all most aggravating things,
If you are hot in haste,
Is to have a man in front of you
With half a day to waste.
There is this one thing that justifies
The man in the foremost place:
The fact that he is the man in front,
The leader of the race.
But, for Heaven’s sake, if you are ahead,
Don’t dawdle at your ease!
You set the pace for the man behind;
Step faster, please!

The Classic by Charlotte Perkins Gilman—Now a Graphic Novel!
“How I wish this illustrated version was given to me back [when I first read this story]! The level of detail in the illustrations helped me ‘feel’ the story. They are beautiful, haunting, disturbing, and yet not over interpreting the work. Do a young (or old) English student a favor and get this illustrated version of Gilman’s classic early feminist story The Yellow Wallpaper.”
