We met Laura via an online writing community and have watched her find more and more poetry in her life over time. To our delight, she was one of our first community members to run a Mischief Café in her home, and she entertains us with her good humor and thoughtfulness.
Laura is a writing teacher at University of Pittsburgh, a copy editor, author, and writing coach. Her award-winning essay “Fifty Things About My Mother, ” published in The Iowa Review and Slate, was named a Notable Essay of 2013 in the Best American Essays anthology. She loves the city of Pittsburgh, spontaneous song, and clementines (or just about anything the color orange).
Favorite ice cream: black raspberry, or coffee.
