Would you like to stir your creative soul? Find your inspiration? Awaken your best writing voice? All while discovering the key principles to richer writing? You’ve come to a special place where all that is possible, in a format that allows you to take things at your own rate.
30 Days to Richer Writing is a self-paced course developed by L.L. Barkat, who has helped many writers launch their careers, some of whom have gone on to become bestselling authors. She’s also inspired countless other writers to find their voices and enjoy their writing life apart from any desire to move into the professional realm.
This inbox-delivery workshop brings together the best of her writing life reflections and advice—developed over many years of practice as an author, editor, writing coach, and publisher.
The course presents this knowledge through the lens of the rich poetry and prose of masterful writers and authors you appreciate at Tweetspeak and T. S. Poetry Press.
How did they develop such writing?
Deep living. Fine living, in the best sense of the phrase. Not expensive living, but living that rolls itself into the kind of writing you can’t help but read: writing with intrigue, wit, vision, and voice. They’ve also compelled themselves to work past the status quo, by doing what L.L. calls “practicing in a direction.” This can be done in surprising ways.
How It Works
To live deeply (and write richly), you must begin to develop life-altering rituals that persist. The 30 Days will present 30 options for writing ritual that you’ll explore and “try on.”
These options are presented through four micro workshop sessions that range from 7 to 9 days each. (You can sign up for just one micro workshop or eventually try them all.) In the end, you can choose to incorporate some of the rituals more permanently into your life and your writing practice.
Two Ways to Approach Your Experience
1. Before you start the 30 Days, you choose a poem, short story, essay, or beginning of a novel you’ve been working on, that you’d like to take to the next level.
You then work with this same “master piece” over the entire 30 Days and take it through surprising paces. The goal would be to produce a piece that displays rich technique and voice—to transform your “master piece” into a “masterpiece.”
If you choose this approach, we invite you to submit your piece to us at the end of this program, and if it’s a fit for our needs, we might publish it.
2. Instead of working with a “master piece,” you might wish to create a series of pieces that are part of a project. In this case, you could use each day as a jumpstart day for freewriting a new piece for the project.

In the Words of a Participant
During this pressing season, this course offers a way to refresh my routine. It creates a new “place” for me to visit. According to my own schedule, I can take a breath and retreat to my backyard as I try out an installment. The series is thoughtfully written, and I’m finding it to be a fun way to develop my writing and create a little sparkle in my morning.

Sometimes We Publish Your “Try”
While we leave it to participants to engage with each other in the community room, we do read many of the entries, as a way to quietly share in the joy of your tries. Every so once in a while, we even publish one (with your permission)! Like this, from participant Laura Lynn Brown:
