Woodstock Dream: “100 Coffee Shops” Begins at The Tannery
When Sadbook and friends decided to start a 100 Coffee Shops Tour, we never expected our second stop to be Woodstock. But then it happened. Crazy dream moment. Inspiration. Spontaneous “Let’s go.” And we were on our way to… Woodstock, NY.
As tradition would have it, we didn’t exactly get to the Woodstock part of Woodstock that gives the whole region its position in epic cultural history. That storied music landscape, as it turns out, is in a town called Bethel that is actually a whole hour and a half away from Woodstock the town.
Well.
No worries. We made our own magic, minus the historic site. Plus coffee. And honey. In Woodstock itself (the town).
One of our favorite experiences was the chance to have coffee and donate The Sadbook Collections to The Tannery—a super friendly coffee shop that you might think you can only visit if you stay at the Woodstock Way Hotel (which runs the shop). We were so glad we stopped in to The Tannery to ask if the coffee shop is open to more than hotel guests. “Why, yes!” said Tia and Arielle (the friendliest baristas ever). Tia and Arielle also work the hotel desk, and they will singlehandedly intrigue you into staying at Woodstock Way if you haven’t already (we haven’t, but we’re intrigued!).
If you get a chance to go to Woodstock (the town, not the historic site), we highly recommend a stop at The Tannery. You might even catch a glimpse of Sadbook there. Or, you might meet a cool screen writer (we did). You never know what the possibilities hold when you follow a crazy dream moment.
Poetry Prompt: Woodstock
Write a poem about the mythic Woodstock music event. Or just write a poem about a crazy dream moment. Take us on a journey with unexpected twists and turns. Include a few sights and sounds and textures. We can’t wait to read your poem!

I love the photo of the tree slice. Looks like a lovely shop for Sadbook to nestle into.

Yes! Quite a large trunk, to get that slice 🙂 An amazing piece of furniture in a gorgeous coffee shop.
Sadbook had a *fabulous* time meeting The Tannery staff and some coffee-shop goers. It felt like a perfect fit.
