The Mount is celebrating Edith Wharton’s 151st birthday today. Wharton was born in chilly January, on the 24th, in 1862, in New York City.
She was the first woman to win a Pulitzer Prize, with The Age of Innocence. Go, Edith. (And happy belated birthday.)
Want a peek at Wharton’s Berkshire’s home? Lovely, from the lemons to the door handles.
Birthday cake by Hungry Squirrel Cakes. Sort of. 🙂
